Gábor Tim started the 2015 Hankook RCM Cup season in a perfect manner; the Apex Racing driver won race two on Sunday after being victorious on the day before. He started from P8 due to the reverse grid rule in the second 30 minutes + 1 lap race, while his arch rival Dániel Nagy (George Racing Team) was sitting one spot ahead of him. RCM Motorsport’s youngster Attila Tassi was the fastest at the start, and jumped from sixth to second in only one lap. In the second he overtook early leader Máté Benyó (Zengő Motorsport) and grabbed the lead. Meanwhile the Tim – Nagy due has not been sitting idle either, they fought their way up the third and fourth respectively.

In lap 6 they both overtook Benyó, however Tassi managed to build a 1.5 second advantage on them. The two title aspirants immediately showed their hunger for the lead with blistering laptimes and they found themselves on the heels of Tassi very quickly. The RCM Motorsport driver defended the lead valiantly, but Nagy eventually managed to get the better of him in lap 9, while Tim made his way through two laps later. Two and a half minutes plus one lap was remaining from the race at that moment and everyone focused on the big fight between Tim and Nagy. They were driving only a few centimeters from each other and in lap 13 there was a contact between them, and the Apex driver passed Nagy. In the final lap he did an all-in to regain the lead, and made a mistake, which presented P2 to Tassi.

After the race Nagy’s team lodged a complaint about the behavior of Tim but the stewards deemed the maneuver legal and rejected the appeal. Later the two drivers, their team managers and the leadership of RCM Cup analyzed the onboard footages and eventually Nagy also accepted that Tim did nothing wrong.

Beside the great battles for the lead there were numerous tussles further down in the pack. Benyó kept P4 until the very last lap just to be overtaken by Mika Morien (Zsille Motorsport). The Zengő driver probably lost his rhythm as he ended up seventh at the checquered flag. The young Dutchmen took the best rookie position by this move which meant he also did the double in this respect. Norbert Nagy (RCM) was once again one of the highlights of the race. The former WTCC guest driver started from P4 but he slipped down to tenth after a contact with Morien and Márk Somogyi at the start. He fought his way up to P6 and later admitted to experience one of his most enjoyable races ever.

The two newcomers at B3 Racing once again showed stellar form: Bence Boldizs finished ninth after starting from the back of the grid while Gergő Báldi finished eight after loosing positions in the very last laps to more experienced opponents. Anett György once again won the Ladies Trophy, while his father Gábor György had a nice fight with Tijmen Heino which he managed to win. There was a close battle between Veronika Vanyova and István Incze dr. in the dying seconds of the race and it was the newcomer of RCM Motorsport who took P15.
