Exactly three weeks after a hot and very exciting weekend in Rijeka the Hankook RCM Cup field is once again ready to clash for some more points. This weekend the most popular one-make series of Hungary visits the Slovakiaring which is located only 150 km north from Budapest and therefor is a second home of many Hungarian drivers and teams. The weather forecast promises scorching sun on a cloudless sky while the drivers will be looking to catch each other’s slipstream.

The Slovakiaring is full of long, max-speed straight sections which makes it a perfect venue for slipstreaming in an RCM Swift Racer. These cars have relatively modest power at their disposal meaning a good slipstream could enhance straight-line speed significantly. In such a race therefor the most important advice would be: avoid being in P1 before the last turn. As in previous years a great number of overtaking and races open until the very last meters are expected in Slovakia.

Just like this season, the Hankook RCM Cup visited the Slovakiaring twice in 2014, and both events produced spectacular and close racing. The first encounter was on the second weekend of May, when the series was supporting the FIA World Touring Car Championship. Both races were won by Dániel Nagy in the rain, who nicely closed the gap to later champion Gábor Tim. This turned out to be the worst weekend for the Apex Racing driver who finished P2 and P6 in Slovakia.

Tim however fought back in August when RCM Cup visited the track as the support race of the Blancpain Sprint Series. He travelled home with a victory and a second place in his pocket, and made a huge step towards securing the title.

Returning to the present; after two weekends Tim leads the championship by a heathy 23 points advantage over Nagy. The George Racing Team driver however managed to score his first victory in Rijeka which might promise an exciting scenario for the rest of the title fight. Former WTCC guest driver and ETCC race winner Norbert Nagy (RCM Motorsport) is gradually finding grips with the RCM Swift Racer; he sits third in the championship but with a 41 points deficit.

As far as the field itself is concerned; no major changes happened in the line ups before Slovakia. Domonkos Párdányi, an absolute car racing newcomer is expected to make his debut this weekend with RCM Motorsport. Beside him Niels Langeveld from The Netherlands also returns to the wheel after supporting his protégée, Tijmen Heino from the pit wall in recent rounds.
