We are proud to announce that Dániel Nagy, one of the Hankook RCM Cup top drivers was given a fantastic opportunity to make his debut on the international stage and drive in the Red Bull Ring event of newly born TCR International Series with Zengő Motorsport. Dani will race with the same SEAT León Cup Racer previously used by Ferenc Ficza jr., Norbert Tóth and Zsolt Dávid Szabó in the championship organized by former WTCC boss Marcello Lotti.

Nagy started his racing career in 2011 however he was restricted for selective races in his first two seasons. In 2013 he finally got the opportunity to do a full year, and immediately became the champion of the Hungarian Suzuki Swift Cup (predecessor of RCM Cup) with RCM Motorsport.

He was among the first to join the Hankook RCM Cup in 2014 where he once again turned out to be proven frontrunner. He was in a season-long battle for the lead with Gábor Tim, but unfortunately was forced to miss the last two rounds citing family reasons and eventually finished fourth in the overall. At the moment after three rounds he is sitting in P2 with one victory under his belt and once again he is in fierce battle for the title with arch rival Tim.

This is the first time the 17-year-old talent drives the latest generation of the SEAT León racecars, although he has some experience with the older Supercopa version. He has fond memories from the Red Bull Ring which he visited in 2013 with the Suzuki Cup and won Race Two there.

Dani is coming from a very sporty family background; his mother and father used to race in the Hungarian championship, while his older brother Viktor is the world class and fan favorite goalkeeper of the Hungarian water polo national team.

This fantastic opportunity for the George Racing Team driver is a great success for Hankook RCM Cup too. The championship aims to find and develop talents who can be the future stars of the Hungarian autosport community.

“We are very proud to see Dani reaching the TCR International Series coming from our championship. We created RCM Cup to discover and educate young talents who can become the future of car racing in Hungary. And this is only the very beginning as I can see two-three guys in the current field who can step to that level as early as next season. There is no greater success for such a series than this” – RCM Cup promoter László Csuti said.

As far as the schedule is concerned the Red Bull Ring weekend starts off with two free practices on Saturday (FP1 – 8:30, FP2 – 13:00) while the day is concluded by the qualifying practice at 16:30. Races start at 8:25 and 11:30 on Sunday and runs are broadcasted live on MotorsTV.
