A few years ago it was really difficult in Hungary to organize a varied calendar in circuit racing as most of the events were held on the Hungaroring due to the lack of other possible venues. These times are gone now; in 2015 the Hankook RCM Cup visits the Hungarian F1 track only twice. The first occasion was the season opener, while the second is the penultimate event of the year. Moreover – as it is the finale of the Hungarian track racing season – traditional three races are held during the weekend. It could therefore be a great asset if someone finds his golden gloves for this round.

It is highly possible that we will know the 2015 champion after this event as Dániel Nagy (George Racing Team) has a 52 points lead over Mika Morien (Gábor Tim still sits in P2, however he will not start any of the remaining races). If Dani increases or stabilizes this lead or only loses one point he will be crowned on the Hungaroring regardless of the results in the season finale in Brno.

An incredibly hot battle is expected behind him for the overall podium places. Morien (Zsille Motorsport) leads Norbert Nagy (RCM Motorsport) by 20 points, who is trailed by his team-mate, Attila Tassi by a mere four points. The situation of Gergő Báldi (B3 Racing) is not hopeless either although it will be difficult for the rookie driver to erase his 24 points deficit against his more experienced rivals.

Some of the frontrunners can embark on the penultimate round with unforgettable experiences under their belts; Attila Tassi and Norbert Nagy finished second in their category in the 24 Hours of Barcelona race with the RCM – Psycho Pet Endurance Team, which also included Gábor Kismarty-Lechner, László Csuti and Witold Elekfy. Moreover Tassi will continue his international skirmishes after the Hungaroring event as he will enter the SEAT León Eurocup round on the Nürburgring a week later.

Last time the Hankook RCM Cup visited the Hungaroring Gábor Tim took the victory in both races, while Attila Tassi and Dániel Nagy shared the rest of the podium places between themselves. In the absence of the title-holder they are the top favorites this time; Nagy will fight for the title, while Tassi will try to get his first victory. At least one eye should be kept on Mika Morien who won two of the last three races. And of course it would be a mistake to underestimate Norbert Nagy who will also chase his first RCM Cup victory.
