RCM Cup can proudly announce that a few days ago the base contract of the championship has been officially signed by Zsolt Gyulay, president of the Hungarian National Autosport Association (MNASZ).

The Hungarian motorsport governing body showed encouraging support to the series which allowed a mutually beneficial contract. With this contract in our shelf it is time to announce a few more interesting developments of the championship.

As we have previously indicated RCM Cup can offer an attractive price for the championship winner. The one who grabs the inaugural title will earn an opportunity to enter the 2015 Dubai 24 hours race in January with a front wheel driven car prepared and funded by RCM Motorsport. This race is one of the absolute season openers in track racing, and presents incredible experiences and great challenges for all entrants.

The promoter of RCM Cup is well in discussion with the FIA World Touring Car Championship, and is confident to announce an agreement in the near future. We are planning to be a WTCC support race in all three Central-European rounds, in Hungary, in Slovakia and in Austria.

The 2014 calendar is getting shape gradually. The season starts on the Hungaroring F1 track at the regular season-opener of the Hungarian National Championship, and it will also visit another Hungarian circuit, the Pannóniaring near the Hungarian-Austrian border at Ostffyasszonyfa. At the moment this is our provisional calendar:

1st weekend: Hungaroring (Zóna kupa)
2nd weekend: Hungaroring (WTCC)
3rd weekend: Szlovákiaring (WTCC)
4th weekend: Salzburgring (WTCC)
5th weekend: Pannóniaring (Zona cup)
6th weekend: Hungaroring (OB)

RCM suzuk gyartelepThe list of enrolled teams is growing as well. RCM Cup has signed an agreement with three of the best known and most professional Hungarian teams, namely: Főnix Motorsport (hallmarked by GT3 European Championship race winner Csaba Walter), Zsille Motorsport (successful in Hungarian and German SEAT León Cup) and Apex Racing (paving the way of former ETCC driver Gabor Tim). All three teams agreed to enter multiple cars in 2014 and there are negotiations with other squads.

Hankook will be the official and sole tire partner of RCM Cup it will supply all the teams with specific grooved slick sport tires.

Meanwhile the RCM Motorsport guys are working day and night in the factory on the brand new 1.5 liter Swifts to let teams start preparation for the 2014 season as soon as possible.

There are still vacant slots for drivers and teams in RCM Cup. You can start registration HERE. And don’t forget, with the special permission of MNASZ our series has an extraordinary 12 years age limit!
