We have already shown you the building processes of the brand new RCM Swift Racer, while our provisional calendar is also accessible on our official site.

Not much have been said however about the 2014 field so far, and now is the time to enlist the drivers already enrolled for the season. It is a quite strong bunch of people already.

And the RCM Cup field is bound to grow even stronger as most drivers start working on their racing projects in March, when the absence of engine-roaring and burned-tire-smell become unbearable. More capable and determined drivers are expected in the next few months.

But let’s restrain us to the officially announced entrants at the moment. The last three champions of the previous 1.3 Suzuki cup have already been confirmed to race in RCM Cup next year. Dániel Nagy showed immense improvement in 2013 to dominate the field all year. He will drive at RCM Motorsport this season just like his fellow teammate Zoltán Bárkovics, who was crowned Suzuki champion in 2012. Following a short and technical-issues-blighted spell in ETCC and in the Hungarian Touring Car Championship, 2011 Suzuki cup champion Gábor Tim will also return to the one-make format at Apex Racing.RCM Cup has already secured a contract with the new teenager wonderkid Attila Tassi (13 years old), who finished second overall last year, being only his second season in the championship, owing to an age-defyingly consistent performance.

Atika - as he is widely referred to in the Hungarian paddock - will however be faced a strong competition in the person of an also not-yet 14 year-old Dutchman (or Dutchkid?), who also wants to prepare for a successful touring car career in RCM Cup. Mika Morien can boast a world-class trainer, a certain Tom Coronel (one of the most successful privateers in WTCC), and although he is yet to complete a full season due to his age, he has significant experience at his disposal.

Mika will not come to Hungary alone he will be accompanied by his father who also plans to enter RCM Cup. The 47 year-old Ronald completed the 24 Hours of Dubai on a few occasions and also competed in the Dutch Supercar Challenge and the Renault Clio Eurocup. He will be a serious contender and a perfect benchmark for the experienced Hungarian and regional drivers. The Dutchmen will race at Zsille Motorsport.

And there are plenty more to come, as many of the former 1.3 cup drivers are expected to sign with RCM Cup in the near future and the number of other candidates is also rising by the day. Two drivers from Slovakia are on the verge of committing to the championship, and there is huge interest showed towards the very affordable structure of RCM Cup.

As the launching pad of Hungary’s most popular sportsman, Norbert Michelisz, RCM Cup is busy looking for the next generation of Hungarian talents, and quite a few youngsters are expected to participate in the inaugural RCM Junior Trophy. More details to come in the following weeks, so watch this space!
