At the moment the good weather arrived in Hungary the teams of RCM Cup embarked on the preparation as the season opener (25th April, Hungaroring) is getting closer. RCM Motorsport, the team responsible for the production of the RCM Swift Racers revved up itself during the winter to provide the teams and drivers of the championship with sufficient time for their testing program.

Late March the preparation started in parallel, Zsille Motorsports traveled to the Slovakiaring (150 km from Budapest) while Apex Racing set up their camp in West-Hungary on the Pannóniaring. The cars of Zsille were wearing the basic white painting, however Apex has shown their 2014 design dominated by red and black colors.

The testing in Slovakia was the first occasion the two Dutch drivers of Zsille Motorsport, Ronald and Mika Morien (father and son) arrived to Hungary, and it was a perfect opportunity for the parties to get acquainted with each other. The barely 14-year-old Mika is a student of WTCC driver Tom Coronel and has already tested a lot in his home country and tried to practice as much as possible during the winter. However due to his young age this will be the first time he completes a full season in car racing. His father, Ronald is an experienced fox who completed the 24 hours of Dubai several times and raced in numerous other championships in The Netherlands.

As usual the joy of the first meeting was marred by technical problem, Mika's car had issues after only two and a half laps.

"To be honest, I was almost not surprised at all, as it is so typical that the car has problems right when you first meet a new competitor. But we quickly solved the problem and in the meantime Ronald sat into Mika’s car to instruct him" - said Attila Váradi the team manager of Zsille Motorsport.

After the team changed engine in the second Swift, father and son could do many laps on the track together. Ronald showed the lines and Mika was trying to learn as much as possible from his experienced father. At the end of the day the team unanimously concluded that the Dutch teenager is very talented he has good vision on track and is quite experienced compared to his age. While it turned out that Ronald is as experienced as the team expected. The Morien family will return to Hungary on 16th April to continue testing on the Hungaroring.

In the meantime Apex Racing also worked diligently on the Pannóniaring with the 2011 Suzuki Cup champion Gábor Tim and his newcomer teammate Gábor Forrai with the RCM Swift Racer.

"We continued the development of Gabi Forrai and we tried to prepare him for his first season in car racing. The experience of Gábor Tim can significantly accelerate this learning process, and he show good signs of improvement. Or aim for Forrai will be some top6 results in the first few races, and we expect him to be close to Tim by the end of the season" - said Imre Bende, media representative of Apex.

The weather seems favorable for the coming weeks, so RCM Cup teams will continue preparation for the BFR Driver Academy Cup on the Hungaroring.
